Drawing on his love of 60s & 70s spiritual jazz, folk and soul, South London producer and composer Scrimshire announces his new album ‘Bring Our Light To Every Corner’, a quietly expansive record assembled across five years of writing, reflection and collaboration. ‘Bring Our Light To Every Corner’ unfolds slowly with care: voices drift through choirs, instrumental passages stretch outward, and the album moves at an unhurried pace that allows the music to settle and resonate. Released today, the album’s first single ‘Awake, A Dream’ is an epic, moving, yet gentle exploration – and a beautiful sonic space to spend 15 minutes.

“I wanted to create somewhere people could stay for a while,” Scrimshire explains. “A space that carries you gently through the record.” This patience reflects lessons Scrimshire discovered while touring, where audiences responded strongly to performances that allowed music to evolve slowly in the room. “I learned how powerful it can be to give music time,” he says. “When you create space, people step into it with you.”
The album gathers music created in different moments of Scrimshire’s life. Some pieces began as fragments left behind from other projects, others were written during the years surrounding his albums ‘Nothing Feels Like Everything’ (2021) and ‘Paroxysm’ (2023). Over time a thread began to reveal itself, connecting songs shaped by dreams, patience and the search for peace during turbulent years.
“I realised these songs had been waiting for each other,” Scrimshire says. “They were written across a long stretch of time but shared the same emotional space. When we finally put them together the record suddenly made sense.”
‘Bring Our Light To Every Corner’ continues a career that has seen the South London artist recognised by The Guardian as part of a new wave of UK soul producers alongside Inflo and Swindle, pick up an Album of the Week on BBC 6 Music, and an Album of the Year nomination at the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards. Alongside his own releases he continues to champion new voices through the Albert’s Favourites label, run with Dave Koor and Jonny Drop.
