Clark: Watch ‘Winter Linn’ a new video directed by Christopher Hewitt

Director Chris Hewitt has created a dark and beautiful video for ‘Winter Linn’ from Clark’s incredible new self titled album, recently released on Warp Records.

Interpreting the album’s vision of “music like sculpture”, Hewitt travels from birth to death manipulating three dimensional images of organic life juxtaposed with religious icons, frenetically viewed through 360 degrees. Only the midsection’s soaring, melodic lament offers a respite from the relentless pace; exploring movements of dance through dispersed forms.

On working with Clark, Hewitt said: “I’ve been a big fan of Clark’s for years, having been drawn to the dark, distorted romance of his work. I’m excited by how his brain interprets reality and, in turn, music. Clark is one of the very few people I’d do mushrooms with. I love him that much.”

Boldly eponymous, ‘Clark’ is the Warp experimentalist’s seventh album in 13 years; climaxing a narrative that commenced with ‘Clarence Park’, the first “Clark” attributed album ‘Body Riddle’, through the Yin and Yang of ‘Turning Dragon’ and ‘Iradelphic’, and finely honed through this year’s ‘Superscope’ EP and visually intense Phosphor live show.

Clark concludes his 2014 live dates with shows in Barcelona, Paris, London, Berlin and Milan before returning to England for BLOC on 13th March 2015.
